Last summer, my family took a road trip. Back in 2012, it started out as a means to get to Montana for a family reunion, but it quickly morphed into something else. By the time my husband asked for time off in 2013, we had 35 days away from home planned, covering over 20 states and about as many stops. It's a good thing that military time off accumulates, and that Phil usually never takes time off! :D We dubbed in our Super Mega Road Trip, or SMRT for short. :) Coast to coast, and back again.
We officially left on July 18th, and drove all day to my friend Becca's house near Louisville, KY, and stayed for several days. I have zero pictures from that time. ZERO. At the time, I had a phone that took dismal (read: not good for scrapbooking) pictures, and I was having such a blast, that I forgot to "document" it. *sigh* It had been a year since I'd seen most of my friends there, and I didn't want to leave!
But leave we did, after re-packing the car and saying goodbye several times (we actually left three times before we had everything we were supposed to have! LOL) on July 23. That day, we drove north-west to Macomb, IL. I had *wanted* to get to a hotel near Nauvoo, IL (our actual destination) but as we called our preferred hotel chain, we found that all their rooms were booked up. And then it hit us: The next day was July 24, or as we Mormons like to call it, Pioneer Day. It's a HUGE "thing" out west, but honestly, hardly ever mentioned in the east or the south, where we've lived for the past 10 years. Was Navoo doing something for Pioneer Day? Nothing was mentioned on their website. So we branched out and tried other hotel chains, but there was nothing available anywhere near Nauvoo. We had to settle for Macomb, IL because it was cheap and they had a pool. ;)
As you can see, I've used A Fish Design's templates. Templates are so nice to work with; I don't have to think about the shapes-- just pop in the papers and photos, add a few elements, and bam. TTFN!

I am the chosen one. For a CT!
I am getting back into scrapbooking (you know, actually *doing* it rather than simply collecting/buying kits) after a few years of...uh... NOT doing it. I figured one of the best ways to get back into the groove was to apply for CT member. A CT is a Creative Team. They're basically the advertisers for a designer. :D The CT gets to work with the designer's items (kits, templates, etc) for free, and then we show them off.
One of the first CT's that I applied for this year was A Fish Design. I first "met" LilyAnn when I was following a blog-hop (that means she and several others gave away their designs, hehehe!). She has some fabulous templates, and great kits. Then I realized she's at GDS, my "home" in the digi-scrapping world. To my amazement, LilyAnn emailed me back and said I was accepted on her CT! So here she is with a few words:

LilyAnn from A Fish Design has a message for you...
First let me say how excited am I to have my Grand Opening Sale at goDigitalScrapbooking! I've been working on lots of new ideas and have a sketch book of templates I'd like to design. I do have a couple of ideas for kits as well, but I'm in the template mood for the last couple of months. I also will be mailing my first newsletter sometime the first week of March so if you didn't sign up yet and don't want to miss the free template that will be included you only have a couple of days left to sign up.
I'm still looking for one or two more CT members so if you are interested let me know.
Now on to the good stuff.
1- From March 1st through March 15th everything in my store will be on sale for 50% off.
Image is linked to my store.
2- For every layout added to my gallery between March 1st and March 15th, you'll get $1 coupon to my store for a maximum of $3.
3- I'll be giving out RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) in the gallery and on my Facebook page though out the 2 week period.
4- I'll be giving flash coupons (limited time coupons) on my Facebook page.
If you go to my blog and go to the bottom of this same post, there is a free template for you.

Awesome! So go to her blog, grab the freebie, and have fun posting layouts to her gallery! Get some coupons! Save money! I'm addicted to exclamation points!

New blog, new year!
Hi there! Once upon a time, I used to have a blog. In fact, it's still there, hanging out in cyberspace. But the person who designed the background, etc, switched to a pay service. Now, I love supporting the authors of things I use. But I also believe in not paying for things that I can legally get for free. LOL So I took over my old blog that I used for ADSR (Amazing DigiScrap Race). It didn't have any coding for me to re-write, and it already had some scrapbook stuff on it. I added a free fancy template, and VOILĂ€! I'm here to blow your mind with my digi-scrapping skeels. Or not. I dunno. Maybe I shouldn't say that? Because of the pressure? And my doctor says I put too much pressure on myself already? Does it bother you that I'm saying these things as questions?
Any-hoo, I'm here to display my digi-scrapping pages. If you like them, cool. If not, then cool your jets and go make your own. :)

Challenge 2
Here's the end result of our collab effort. :)
I did the papers and photos, and mom did the elements and journaling. I love these pictures! The boys being weird is just something that happens every day, but when I actually get a picture of it, that's fun! :D
In the main picture, the The Muscle has just plucked out The Nerd's eye. oh, the horror! LOL Actually, it's a gummy eyeball that they were playing with, but "he took my eye out" was all The Nerd's idea.... even though he doesn't remember suggesting it. And now he keeps asking me "No, really, why is the picture like that?" sheesh!

Challenge #1
Here is my layout for challenge #1:
The challenge was to tear a photo into at least 3 pieces, and to include journaling on the layout. I love the Atomic Cupcake action for the tearing!! :) I waited until the last minute to do the page, though, so I didn't have time to do all the things I wanted. However, I am satisfied with it! :)
